Epic Games has announced the Fortnite Champion Series All-Star Showdown. After just concluding the Chapter 2 Season 5 FNCS, Epic Games is giving the competitive Fortnite community more to look forward to.
The FNCS All-Star Showdown–also known as the Mid Year Invitational–is the first invitational of the year. The tournament will see the best of the best in Fortnite go head-to-head for a chance to earn a share of the $3 million prize pool. Although Epic had earlier hinted of an All-Star Showdown in Season 5, players had no further idea on the plans or nature of the competition.
Format of FNCS All-Star Showdown
The FNCS All-Star Showdown is an invite-only tournament that will take place from June 23 to 26. A player’s final ranking at the end of Chapter 2 Season 5 or Season 6 will determine if they get an invite. In addition, consistent final rankings with the same team in both Seasons’ FNCS events will also determine invitations. Players must consider this important factor in choosing teammates for the new season.
During the FNCS All-Star Showdown, players will compete in a non-Battle Royale team-based competition, Solo tournament and skill challenges. However, these event formats will vary based on the region. There is no specific scoring system for the Showdown yet.
After the All-Star Showdown, Epic Games does not plan to have any competitions from June 28 to July 11. It wants players to take a “two-week break to recharge”. Asides from the FNCS All-Star Showdown, there are more competitive events scheduled for the new season. Players will know all events for Chapter 2 Season 6 FNCS in the coming weeks.
