Florida Mutineers blew Los Angeles Guerrillas out of the water in the Lower Bracket of the Call of Duty League Stage 2 Major.
The Los Angeles Guerrillas started off terribly in Group A before upsetting the Atlanta FaZe in the final days of the group stage. After handing Atlanta FaZe their first loss of the season, the Guerrillas went on to defeat a flailing Los Angeles Thieves. Florida had a bit of a better showing during Group B but ultimately finished bottom of their ladder after tying with Seattle Surge and Paris Legion at 2-3.
Unlike their performances against FaZe and Thieves, the Guerrillas looked lost around the map and struggled to get their footing. Florida was able to capitalize on their lack of teamwork and played it to their advantage. In the end, Florida finished the series 3-0 and eliminated the first team to defeat FaZe from the Stage 2 Major. Despite their loss, the Guerrillas looked more alive in their match against Florida than Paris Legion did in their earlier match against the LA Thieves.
Los Angeles Guerrillas flounder during the Major
The Florida Mutineers started the series off strong on Moscow Hardpoint where Cesar “Skyz” Bueno took over the map. Skyz went 28/12 during the map to secure Florida the 250-169 win over the Guerrillas who never heated up. Everyone on Los Angeles’ team–outside of Adam “Assault” Garcia–failed to get anything above a 0.75 KD.

Express Search and Destroy was a similar story to Moscow Hardpoint, but the Guerrillas did not roll over as easily. Despite another impressive performance from Skyz, Los Angeles was able to get four rounds off the Mutineers. In the end, Skyz and Joseph “Owakening” Conley were too much for the Guerrillas to handle and Florida won 6-4.
Checkmate Control ended the best-of-five series after Florida held the Guerrillas in their base to secure the victory. It was the rookie Travis “Neptune” McCloud who decimated the Guerrillas this time. Neptune went 23/11 on the three rounds of Control and performed well above his opponents. Florida took the Control 3-0 to sweep Los Angeles out of the tournament. The Seattle Surge will now face the Florida Mutineers to continue on in the Lower Bracket.
