Katherine “LunarKats” So has explained the situation surrounding her departure from TSM’s all-female Valorant team.
Just days after signing LunarKats, TSM announced that they would be mutually parting ways with her. This decision came just 24 hours before their game against Cloud9 White at the Valorant Champions Tour Game Changers qualifier. Individuals on Twitter suggested that some drama with a content creator from an organization known as SoaR was to blame. A TwitLonger from SoaR Haleigh from August of last year was brought up but was not the reason for her departure.
LunarKats took to Twitch to clear things up about the situation, stating that the reason she had left TSM was because of a Snapchat video from 2019. In 2019, LunarKats posted a video to her Snapchat, allegedly ranting about a fast-food worker who had been rude to her. This video was taken down by LunarKats after she realized how harsh the initial response was. However, someone still had the video from two years ago and sent it to TSM directly. That is when TSM and LunarKats decided to mutually part ways.
LunarKats expresses remorse for her actions on stream
After explaining the situation surrounding the video, LunarKats became visibly upset in front of her following. She explained that while she had initially apologized in 2019, she was still sorry for the way she had acted. LunarKats went on to explain that she learned from her Snapchat rant mistake and has since stopped all video on the platform. She also specified that she was the one to end the contract with TSM, saying that the team was just trying to prevent her harm from the situation.
LunarKats also addressed the situation regarding SoaR Haleigh, saying that she admits wrong but has moved on. She also stressed that the confrontation between the two on social media had nothing to do with her departure from TSM. Finally, she revealed that she will be taking a break from social media for the time being.
